On Tuesday, December 3rd, the Embassy of Canada held its annual holiday tree lighting reception hosted by Deputy Head of Mission, Denis Stevens. This year, the balsam trees adorning both the Embassy’s rotunda and lobby were gifts of the Delong Family Farm of New Germany, Nova Scotia, and the Christmas Tree Council of Nova Scotia. The beauty of these balsams infuse Canada’s corner of Pennsylvania Avenue with the holiday spirit.
With guests joining us from Capitol Hill, public and private agencies, and other embassies, it was an opportunity to reflect on the unique relationship Canada and the United States’ have as close trade and security partners. As part of the evening’s festivities, guests were treated to the talents of local a cappella group, The Capital Hearings.
