Just weeks before the official “Canada Day” on July 1st, Canada’s Consulate General in New York recently enjoyed two separate “Canada Days” in Albany, NY and Harrisburg, PA. Both New York and Pennsylvania have Canada as their number one customer (NY exported $13.8 billion in goods in 2018; PA exported $10.8 billion), so there was much to celebrate! Consul General Yaffe was recognized on the State House floor in Pennsylvania, and the NY Senate even passed a resolution proclaiming May 29th as “Canada Day in New York”. Each state’s dairy industry stands to gain from ratification of the USMCA, a feature that was not lost on the Consul General as she enjoyed a delicious milkshake with Pennsylvania’s Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding.
