A Canadian "gold front" will sweep across the United States in 2014 with the upcoming American release of hit singer and songwriter Gord Bamford's album, Country Junkie – just nominated for a Juno Award (Canada's equivalent to the Grammys) for Country Album of the Year – in the wake of earning gold single and platinum album sales awards back home. The nation's top country artist, he is often spoken of as Canada's answer to George Strait for his neo-traditional style and strong fan appeal and loyalty. Bamford has already been hailed Stateside in Music News Nashville for his "leading-man side and a voice that cuts right through and commands."

Bamford begins 2014 with a bang as his single "Unreal" hit #2 on the Canadian all-genre pop charts. He will also bring his winning, high-octane live show to American audiences this year. A popular Canadian attraction as a headliner, Bamford launched Country Junkie with a recent nationwide Canadian tour supporting Reba and has shared the stage with such artists as Tim McGraw, George Strait, Martina McBride, Brooks & Dunn, Miranda Lambert and others. His duet with Athens, GA native Colt Ford, “Chicken & Biscuits,” also made waves in the Canadian market. In addition to issuing his albumand touring in America this year, he will top the bill at some of Canada's biggest summer music festivals, playing for tens of thousands country fans.
Working his way up from the honky-tonks of Alberta to becoming an independent label musical phenomenon in Canada, and signing with Sony Music Canada last year, Bamford arrives in America in the wake of a platinum album (Christmas in Canada), gold #1 single, ("When Your Lips Are So Close") and winning five 2013 Canadian Country Music Association Awards – including Album, Single, Songwriter, CMT Video of the Year, and Producer of The Year for his album Is It Friday which he co-produced with Byron Hill (Kathy Mattea, Gary Allan). He also "stole the show... at the Canadian Country Music Association Awards," raves The Canadian Press, and has previously won 15 CCMA Awards.
